Three drug peddlers arrested with heroin, poppy straw

JAMMU, Sept 15: Miran Sahib and Jhajjar Kotli Police arrested three drug peddlers along with heroin and poppy straw.
As per police sources, on specific information a team from Police Station Miran Sahib led by SHO Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq laid a naka near Ring Road under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Surinder Singh and SP Headquarters Ramnish Gupta and intercepted a motorcycle bearing registration number JK02CC-6804.
During checking, police team recovered 6 grams heroin from the possession of the rider and arrested him.
The arrested person was identified as Lakhan Kumar, son of Birbal of Khepad Tehsil RS Pura District Jammu.
A case FIR Number 113/2022 under sections 8/21/22/60 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Miran Sahib and investigation started.
Meanwhile, a team from Police Station Jhajjar Kotli led by SHO Inspector Samson Bhatti and assisted by PSI Ishfaq Kasana under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Pardeep Kumar laid a naka near Suketar and intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number HP73A-3970.
During search, police team recovered 20.kilograms of poppy straw from the vehicle and arrested two persons travelling in the car.
The arrested persons were identified as Yousaf, son of Ibrahim of Village Rainola Tehsil Chamba Himachal Pradesh and Mam Hussain, son of Noor Jemal of Village Chandred Tehsil Chamba Himachal Pradesh.
A case FIR Number 217/2022 under section 8/15/25/29 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Jhajjar Kotli and investigation initiated.
