Three drug peddlers held with Ganja, cash

JAMMU, Sept 15: Police in Akhnoor area here claimed today that they have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 330 grams of Ganja and Rs 43000 cash from their possession.
A police spokesperson said that Bishram Dass of Jio Pota Ghat, Akhnoor was caught with 115 grams of Ganja and Rs 43000 cash, Basant Kumar Patel alias Appu of Sapri Pannu Chowk, Akhnoor was arrested with 106 grams of Ganja and Sanjeet Sahu of Bihar at present Daskal, Akhnoor, was arrested with 109 grams of Ganja during routine naka checking at Namander near river Chenab, Akhnoor.
The accused have been booked in case FIR number 262/2023 under sections 8/20/29 of the NDPS Act registered at Police Station Akhnoor and further investigation taken up.
Pertinently, the arrest and seizure was conducted by a team of Akhnoor Police Station led by SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Lal Sharma assisted by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Zaheer Mushtaq.
