Three drug peddlers land in police net

KATHUA, Feb 27: Hiranagar police arrested three drug peddlers along with heroin worth several thousands and sharp edged weapon.
As per police sources, on specific information, a team from Hiranagar Police Station laid a naka near Arjun Chak Link Road and intercepted an Alto car bearing registration number JK02AE-6889.
During checking, police recovered 16 grams heroin, 23 grams charas and a sharp edged weapon from the possession of three persons traveling in the car and nabbed them on the spot.
The accused have been identified as Navjot, son of Vijay Kumar, Mohinder Kumar, son of Tarsem Lal and Rohit Sharma, son of Surinder Paul, all residents of tehsil Hiranagar.
A case under FIR Number 19/16 under Section 8/20/21/22 Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act and 4/25 Arms Act has been registered against them at Police Station Hiranagar and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Hiranagar Police Station Police Station Inspector Naveen Angral made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Border DySP Deewaker Singh and SSP Kathua Neeva Jain.
