Three held as snatching case worked out

JAMMU, July 11: With the arrest of three individuals, police claimed here today that they have solved a snatching case registered at Police Post Narwal. The snatched amount of Rs 65,400 has also been recovered.
A police spokesperson said that a written complaint was lodged at Police Post Narwal by a yatri namely Udit Kumar son of Suresh Chandra of Dev Chara, 52 Tehsil Aolla Brelli, stating therein that while he was on his way towards a tea stall at Rajiv Nagar, Narwal, some unknown persons stopped him and snatched a cash amount of Rs 65400 from his possession.
On this, he said, a case under Sections 341/382 of the IPC was registered at Police Station Bahu and investigation taken up.
Followed by this, special teams of Police Post Narwal led by SDPO East Syed Zaheer Abbas Jafari assisted by SHO Bahu Fort Inspector Shiv Dev Singh and incharge Police Post Narwal SI Lalit Sharma with the help of CCTV footages traced three suspects namely Pooja, Poonam, and Totu, all residents of Rajiv Nagar, Narwal, said the police spokesperson.
During questioning, he said, the suspects confessed to their involvement in the crime and on their disclosure, the snatched amount of Rs 65400 was recovered.
The overall arrests and recoveries were made under the supervision of SP South Shaheen Wahid.
