JAMMU, Jan 28: Three people were arrested by police in connection with the murder of a minibus conductor in Bishnah area here on January 13.
Ajay Kumar (17) alias Makodu of Bhatyari, Bishnah, was attacked by a group of individuals with sharp weapons around 11:45 pm on January 13, resulting in grievous injuries to him.
He was taken a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Taking cognisance of the matter, police registered a case FIR number 04/2025 under sections 103/190/191(2)/191(3) of BNS and 4/25 Arms Act at Police Station Bishnah and started investigation into the matter.
During investigation, a police official said that a Special Investigation Team (SIT) headed by SHO Bishnah, Inspector Sushil Choudhary, under the supervision of SDPO RS Pura Nikhil Gogna, and SP Headquarters, IH Rather, identified a few suspects and finally succeeded in detaining three individuals identified as Anmol Sharma (24) of Jakh, Samba, Nikhil Sharma (29) of Jakh, Samba, and Nishant Choudhary of Vijaypur, Samba.
During sustained questioning, the accused confessed to their involvement in the crime, revealing that the murder stemmed from a personal rivalry, said the police official.
Quoting their statements, the police official said that Nikhil Sharma launched a fatal assault on the victim using a sharp weapon (toka), while Anmol Sharma and Nishant Choudhary were actively involved in executing the crime, which they had planned to avenge the personal rivalry over an altercation which happened between the accused Anmol Sharma and other party.
The police official said that as part of the ongoing investigation, the weapons used in the crime-a toka and a Khukri-have also been seized from the accused. A VW Polo vehicle (JK21H-0505) used in the crime has also been seized, he said.
Further investigation into the case is underway, added the police official.
