RAMBAN, Aug 12: Three persons were arrested along with large quantity of illicit liquor from Ramsoo area on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway.
As per police sources, on specific inputs, police team from Ramsoo police station along with SSB personnel raised a joint naka at Ramsoo on Jammu-Srinagar National Highway and intercepted a Srinagar bound Tata Sumo bearing registration number JK03A-9418.
During checking of the vehicle, police recovered 70 pouches of illicit liquor and arrested three persons on the spot.
The accused have been identified as Adil Ahmed, son of Ghulam Rasool sheikh, Mudassir Daud Khan, son of Daud Khan and Mubashir Ahmed Khan, son of Mohammad Abdullah Khan, all resident of Andoora, tehsil Shangus, District Anantnag.
A case under FIR Number 59/15 under Section 48-A Excise Act has been registered at police station Ramsoo and investigation started.
