RAMBAN, May 14: Police here today under the overall supervision of SSP Ramban, Anuj Kumar foiled two narcotic smuggling bids and arrested three persons with intoxicants.
Cops from Police Station Chanderkote led by PSI Gourav while conducting routine checking intercepted a two wheeler (Scooty) bearing registration number PB07CB-3332.
The rider Harpreet Singh, son of Sudarshan Singh, resident of Mananhana, Hoshiarpur in Punjab and pillion rider Jagdish Singh, son of Jagtar Singh, resident of Baddi Miani, Hoshiarpur in Punjab were questioned and during checking 5 kg poppy straw was found from the Scooty.
A case in FIR number 67/2024 was registered in this regard at Police Station Chanderkote under relevant Sections of NDPS Act.
Meanwhile, in another instance cops from Police Station Batote led by PSI Mukesh Singh while conducting routine checking intercepted one Tanbir Ahmed, son of Abdul Karim, resident of Ballihote, Ramban.
During his checking cops found about 55 gram Charas like substance.
A case in FIR number 68/2024 was registered in this regard at Police Station Batote under relevant sections of NDPS Act.
All the three peddlers of intoxicants were arrested and the contrabands along with the vehicle involved in the crime were seized and investigation in these cases was started.
