Three injured in kitchen fire

JAMMU, Aug 4: Three persons were injured in a kitchen fire that broke out in the house of an Army officer here at Sidhra area of city outskirts.
According to a police spokesperson, the three injured have been identified as Satish Kumar (33) son of Dindu Ram, a resident of Haryana (at present Sidhra), Dandiya Birwa (28) son of Tuami Birwa, a resident of Jharkhand (at present Sidhra) and Joginder (30) son of Vansh Raj, a resident of UP (at present Preet Nagar). Immediately after the accident, the trio in serious condition was rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu.
Reports said that the fire broke out due to leakage of gas from LPG cylinder kept in the kitchen of the house when one of the victims turned on the gas stove for making tea. However, the actual reason could be ascertained after the statement of the victims, who presently are unfit for the same.
A case in this connection has been registered at concerned police station and investigations started.
