DODA, June 25: Three persons were injured after a vehicle they were travelling in skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Dessa village of Doda district today, officials said.
They said a Maruti Car (JK06-5385) met with an accident at Bema area of Dessa village this afternoon, resulting in injuries to three people, who were shifted to Government Medical College, Jammu for advanced treatment.
Police identified the injured as driver Anaytullah Sheikh (37) son of Nassra Sheikh of Bhagwah, his wife Shehna Begum (35), and Shamshad Begum (35) wife of Showket Ahmed of Bhagwah.
Reacting to the accident, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh earlier today claimed that he spoke to DC Doda Harvinder Singh to ensure that proper arrangements were made to shift the injured to GMC, Jammu.
He wrote on X, formerly Twitter, “Just now spoke to DC #Doda Harvinder Singh after learning about the unfortunate road accident of a motor vehicle in Dessa region. Three are injured, out of them two are critical. Arrangements are being made to shift them to GMC Jammu at the earliest.”
Despite assurance of the Union Minister, the relatives of the injured persons resorted to sloganeering and protest outside GMC Doda claiming the injured were not provided with the ambulance on time to shift them to GMC Jammu.
