DODA, Oct 6: Three persons were killed and five others were injured today when a car in which they were travelling skidded off the road and fell into a gorge near Sarowh.
The mishap occurred at around 9 PM and Doda police immediately rushed to the spot and started rescue operation with the help of locals. In the mishap, eight passengers received serious injuries and they were rushed to Government Medical College (GMC) Doda, where three of them were declared as brought dead by the doctors.
The deceased persons were identified as Lal Chand (40) son of Jamit Ram, Minay Kumar (32) son of Daya Ram and Keranjeet (27), all residents of Sarowh Hambal while the injured persons were identified as Sanjay Kumar, Kaushal Kumar, Mintu Kumar, Manjeet Kumar and Sunehru Kumar, residents of Sarowh Hambal.
As per sources, Kaushal and Manjeet were referred to GMC Jammu for specialized treatment while the bodies of the deceased were shifted to mortuary of the GMC Doda.
A case in this connection was registered at Police Station Doda and further investigation started.
