Three minor siblings found abandoned at Railway Station, repatriated to Kupwara

JAMMU, Jan 9: Three minor siblings aged six years, two and half years and six months who were found alone at Railway Station Jammu, were safely repatriated back to Child Welfare Committee Kupwara today.
The three siblings were found alone and abandoned at Jammu Railway Station on 7th December, 2022 by an NGO working for the welfare of children. Afterwards, the siblings were produced before the Child Welfare Committee, Jammu the same day and were handed over to Government run Cradle Baby Reception Centre for shelter and care.
After hectic efforts of ADGP Railways, SSP Railways and Child Welfare Committee, their father was traced to Tangdhar, Kupwara. After assessing the circumstances in which the father is placed, it was decided to repatriate children back to their district.
Later with personal efforts of ADGP Railways and SSP Railways, a police escort was provided for safe transfer of the children to their native village and today the children were safely handed back to CWC Kupwara.
