JAMMU, Nov 2: In a significant operation, Jammu Police apprehended three individuals involved in bootlegging and seized a substantial amount of illicit liquor within the jurisdiction of Police Station Bishnah.
Acting on credible information, a police team led by the Station House Officer (SHO) of PS Bishnah, Inspector Sushil Choudhary, conducted raids at three locations suspected of illegal liquor sales.
During the raids, police recovered 383 bottles of ‘desi’ liquor and an additional 33 liters of locally brewed illicit liquor. The operation was conducted under the supervision of the Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO) of RS Pura and the Superintendent of Police (SP) Headquarters, Jammu.
Three cases have been registered in connection with the seizure: FIR Number 176/2024 under Section 48A, FIR Number 177/2024 under Section 48F, and FIR Number 178/2024 under Section 48A of the Excise Act. Investigations are underway as police continue efforts to curb illegal liquor activities in the area.
