Three notorious drug peddlers nabbed

KISHTWAR, Apr 22: Police today arrested 3 drug peddlers and recovered 141 grams of Cannabis (Charas) like substance from their possession.
“A special police naka led by SHO Police Station Kishtwar Inspector Abid Bukhari was laid a naka at Om Mehta Road Crossing under the supervision of Deputy SP Headquarters Kishtwar Ashish Gupta,” a police spokesperson said.
He said during extensive checking of vehicles and pedestrians, the police party noticed suspicious movement of three persons who were trying to escape checking and acting swiftly, overpowered the trio.
“During checking of the suspected persons, Cannabis (Charas) like substance weighing about 141 grams was recovered from their possession,” the spokesman said, adding the accused identified as Mudassir Mehaj son of Mehraj Din of Om Mehta Road, Saleem Javid son of Javid Iqbal of Tanghowari and Mudassir Hussain son of Abdul Latief of Zawer Kishtwar, were arrested and the contraband was seized.
He said in this regard, a case FIR Number 91/2022 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Kishtwar and investigation started.
