Three peddlers held with narcotics

JAMMU, May 12: Akhnoor Police today arrested three drug peddlers along with narcotics substance.
“Under the supervision of SDPO Akhnoor Mohan Sharma, a team of Police Station Akhnoor headed by SHO Akhnoor Inspector Harjeet Singh and assisted by PSI Zulfikar during patrolling and frisking of vehicles in TRC area, signaled a vehicle to stop but the driver tried to flee. However, the vehicle was stopped by the alert police party,” a Police spokesman said.
He said during search of three persons namely Rajeev Ranjan son of Rampal of Mawa Karoora (Akhnoor), Vinod Kumar son of Raj kumar of Mawa Karoora and Rahul Kumar son of Rampal of MH Manda (Akhnoor), who were on-board the vehicle, some paper foil used for drug consumption was recovered. On further checking of their Bolero vehicle bearing registration number JK02BG-7179, heroin like substance weighing approximately 4 gram was recovered from it.
“All the three accused were arrested and their vehicle was also seized along with seizure of the recovered narcotics,” the spokesman said, adding, a case under FIR number 138/2023 under sections 8/21/22/29 was registered in this connection at Police Station Akhnoor and investigation started.
