4 SOG men injured in militant attack

 SRINAGAR: Four personnel of Special Operations Group of Jammu and Kashmir Police were injured when a search party of security forces was attacked by militants in Sopore today.

Police cordoned off Chankhan area of Sopore and militants present inside opened fire on them injuring four SOG men. The injured men were removed to Srinagar for treatment.

The firing has stopped and additional troops were rushed to the area and search operation has been launched.

A police officer said that it is not yet clear whether the militants had fled away or are hiding inside the locality. He said that searches are on and senior police and army officers have rushed to the spot.
