JAMMU, June 18: Chinore Police arrested three thieves and recovered stolen property worth Rs 11 lakh recovered from them.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged by a man namely Jameel Raza Mir, son of Ghulam Hassan Mir of Salonia Tehsil Mandi District Poonch stating that some unknown thieves have stolen some quintals of iron bars (saria) from his newly constructed house at Swarn Vihar in Bantalab.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 128/2021 under Sections 379 and 34 IPC was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a special team led by Incharge Police Post Chinore SI Avtar Choudhary was constituted under the supervision of SHO Domana Inspector Mahesh Sharma, SDPO Domana Kosheen Koul and SP Rural Sanjay Sharma.
With the help of CCTV footages and other technical assistance, the team finally arrested 3 thieves, who were identified as Balwant Raj, son of Ram Gopal of Sehora, Kunjwani District Jammu, Balbir Singh, son of Joginder Singh of Nanak Nagar District Jammu and Ashok Kumar, son of Gian Chand of Sanjay Nagar District Jammu.
During sustained questioning, accused confessed their involvement in the above mentioned case and also confessed their involvement in other thefts in other areas like Janipur, Sainik Colony, Trikuta Nagar, Chinore, etc.
On their disclosure, 40 quintals iron bars (saria), 2 mixture grinders, 106 iron rods (shuttering rods), 6 big iron pipes, 17 iron angles, 3 motorcycles and 80 iron shuttering plates worth around Rs 11 lakh were recovered.
Further questioning of the accused is going on.
