Three thieves arrested with stolen mobile phones, other items

JAMMU, Apr 8: Greater Kailash and Janipur Police arrested three thieves along with stolen mobile phones and other items.
As per police sources, a complaint was lodged at Police Post Greater Kailash by a person namely Arun Kumar, son of Banarsi Lal of Nai Basti District Jammu stating that some unknown thieves entered into his shop situated at Lower Jallo Chak under the name and style M/s JV Communication and decamped with mobile phones.
Acting over the complaint, a case under FIR Number 33/2022 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC was registered at Police Station Gangyal and investigation started.
During the course of investigation, a team from Police Post Greater Kailash led by SI Majid Hussain was constituted under the supervision of SHO Gangyal Inspector Joginder Singh Chib and SDPO South Sachit Sharma.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the help of CCTV cameras footages of the area finally arrested two thieves from Domana, who were identified as Mohammad Makeem, son of late Jameel Din and Kulbir Singh, son of Duley Ram, both residents of Migrant Colony, Talwara District Reasi.
It is pertinent to mention that said accused persons were arrested by Police Station Domana and their custody were transferred to Police Station Gangyal in this case by the order of Court. On their disclosure, 8 mobile phones of different companies, 1 Laptop, 2 tabs and 1 power bank were recovered. Seventeen stolen mobile phones of this case were recovered by Police Post Pouni Chak and were seized under Section 102 CrPC accordingly.
Meanwhile, to work out a case registered under FIR Number 30/2022 under Sections 457 and 380 IPC, a team from Police Station Janipur led by SHO Inspector Ajaz Haider and assisted by ASI Ghulam Mohi Din was constituted.
The team did strenuous efforts and with the analysis of CDR/tower location finally arrested the thief, who was identified as Ajay Sharma, son of Kamaldeep Sharma of Durga Nagar District Jammu. On his disclosure, 15 stolen mobile phones were recovered.
Further questioning of the arrested persons is going on to ascertain their involvement in other theft cases.
