JAMMU, June 13: The Institute of Music & Fine Arts (IMFA), University of Jammu, and Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary Society jointly organize a book release function in Kolkata (West Bengal) in which three Urdu books by Prof Raees Anwar, Dr Zareena Zareen and Dr Sehnaz Qadri were released.
The book release function was attended by music & literature lovers of Kolkata. The released books are `Bengal Main Urdu Tazkre’, `Nasyali Tangeel’ and `Urdu Hamari Urdu’.
The book release function was presided over by Prof Qazi Ubaid-Ur-Rehman from Jamia Millia Islamia, while Prof Shahid Hussain of JNU graced the occasion as chief guest. Prof Habib Ahmed of Madras University, Prof Abul Kalam of National Urdu University Hyderabad and Prof Shohab Inayat Malik of Jammu University also graced the presidium.
A thought-provoking paper on the three books was presented by Prof Abul Kalam, who describe the authors of the books, as prominent writers of Urdu language & literature. He describes Prof Raees Anwar’s book as an informative one, which provides a lot of information about the early criticism of Bengal. Prof Zareena Zareen is also associated with various social & literary organizations of Kolkata. Besides she is a prominent poetess of Urdu world who has participated in various Musira’s. Discussing the book of Dr Sehnaz Qadri, Prof Kalam describes her as a young Urdu writer of J&K, who in a very short time has written various informative books on Urdu literature. He particularly discussed his article of Loak-Adab which provides a lot of information to the reader about the Loak-Adab of J&K.
In his presidential address, Prof Qazi Ubaid-Ur-Rehman threw light on three books which were released today. He describes the three writers’ future hope for Urdu language & literature, who are working hard for the upliftment of Urdu language & literature. Prof Shahid Hussain too congratulated the author & organizers for organizing an impressive book release function at Kolkata.
Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, Principal IMFA & President Rasa Javedani Memorial Literary Society conducted the proceedings while Prof Habib Ahmed presented a vote of thanks.
