Three-week Refresher Course in languages begins at JU

JAMMU, Apr 6: Three weeks long  Refresher Course in languages being organised by the Academic Staff College, University of Jammu in collaboration with the Department of Urdu, began today.
Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chancellor, Prof. R. D Sharma said that it is the job of the teacher to ensure that students are provided the quality education by adopting better teaching methods.
He called upon the educators to be the researchers in their own area, generate the knowledge and then share the same. He asked them to work collectively so as to strengthen the process of Research Methodology.
Prof. Sharma urged the educators to focus on the target and to take regular feedback from the students at the end of the session so as to assess their performance. He called upon developing and maintaining effective programmes with special impetus on improving teaching and learning.
Earlier in his welcome address, Prof. Rajnikant, Director, Academic Staff College said that the refresher course is very important as there was no refresher course organised   during the past  four years in languages. He said that this course is an academic interaction and hence more thrust should be on it.
Prof Sukhchain Singh , Head, Dept of Urdu and Course Coordinator also spoke on the occasion.
Prof Riyaz Ahmed conducted proceedings of the function Ranjit Kalra, Asst. Director,ASC presented formal vote of thanks.
Among others Prof Qadoos Javid, Former Head of Department, Urdu,KU, Prof Shohab Inayat Malik, Director, Kishtwar Campus , Jaikumar Sharma, Special Secretary to VC  and faculty members were also present  on the occasion.
