LEH, Sept 29: On his second day tour to Changthang region of Ladakh, Thupstan Chhewang, Member of Parliament, visited Nilung Lungpa, Rebo area of Demjok Phu and Demjok village, where he interacted with the locals.
He was accompanied by Chering Dorjay, president BJP Leh, Dorjay Mutup Councilor Kyungyam LAHDC Leh, Sonam Dorjay BJP Nyuma block president, Ex Councilor Nawang Norboo and others.
During the visit, he inspected the areas and works where China objects since long and appreciated the heroic spirit of patriotic people. The MP encouraged the locals for standing with the great nation.
Before reaching at Demjok, the MP inaugurated a community hall at Dholay where most of the nomadic people of Changthang region migrate for winter pasture. He also inaugurated the newly built community hall at Demjok and interacted with the locals, led by Sarpanch Rigzin Tangay and Namberdar who put up their demands including road connectivity from Dungti to Demjok, opening of Medical Center, installation of mobile connectivity at Demjok, granting of LAC Certificate to people living at zero border villages including Demjok, Chumur, Aanlay, Kuyul and Chushul, installation of Radio and Television transmission etc.
Thupstan Chhewang also visited Kuyul village where people accorded him grand reception. Local also highlighted some of their demands, including; opening of ICDS at Kuyul Pharka, reopening of school at Katlay and fencing of farm lands to protect from wild ass.
MP Ladakh and his team also visited Aanlay village and interacted the villagers. On behalf of the villagers, Nambardar highlighted the demands, including installation of solar battery backup for BSNL tower, opening of Primary Health Center, making BPL electronic meter functional, repair of bathrooms at Hydro Therapy Center of Demjok and to provide solar lighting system to the village.
Thupstan Chhewang assured to fulfill all the demands of the people one by one.
