While talking to media persons, here today, the Tibetan MP listed some points to make people aware of the prevailing situation in the occupied territory and address the issues being faced by their community since China illegally invaded Tibet in 1949.
“Situation in the last seven decades has been deteriorating to the extent that Tibet is now facing a threat of cultural genocide and taking away identity of the Tibetans,” said the MPs who claim to be representatives of seven million Tibetans.
The MPs appealed the world community and Government of India to influence China for holding unconditional talks with Dalai Lama to resolve the issue of seeking genuine and meaningful autonomy for Tibet within the framework of People’s Republic of China.
Urging the Government of India to recognize Tibet as an occupied nation, the visiting MPs also sought access of the independent human rights organizations in the occupied territory.
The delegation of Tibetan MPs in exile on J&K tour had also met with leaders of different political parties explaining them the nefarious designs of China.
