SRINAGAR, Feb 5: The ticketing agents of the Kashmir today alleged that some tour operators have misguided the Advisor to the Governor, Khurshid A Ganai, by launching a malicious campaign against them.
Suhail Ahmad Dar, head of the Ticketing Agents’ Forum said some of the tour operators have launched a malicious campaign through social media and briefed the Advisor to Governor with wrong information. “The Advisor who has little knowledge of ticketing was fed with wrong information. We appeal the Governor to intervene in the matter and investigate if the claim holds any water,” he said, adding that the tour operators are using derogatory language against the registered ticketing agents of the Valley.

On Monday, Advisor Ganai asked all the airlines to immediately stop selling tickets in bulk to intermediaries who were reportedly misusing this facility and indulging in the resale of tickets at exorbitant prices.
The ticketing agents threatened to take legal action against the tour operators if they did not stop the campaign. “We request our tour counterparts to stop this malicious campaign against ticketing agents and all those who have used the terms like mafia, hoarders and black marketers against us are warned of legal consequences,” they said, adding that they are being forced to take a legal action against the tour operators.
They refuted the claims of the tour operators that policy of D3 leads to the sale of exorbitant rates. “It is totally baseless and incorrect. In fact, the policy helps customers to get up to 50% discount on the online fares. People who allege us of doing illegal things should come forward to prove it,” they said.
