Tiger Division commemorates Raising Day

JAMMU, Mar 20: Tiger Division commemorated its 78th Raising Day today.
The Division was initially raised in 1942 and participated in WW-II.
After WW-II, it was de-mobilised and was re-raised in March 1948 during the first Indo-Pak war. Since then it has participated in various operations like 1965 and 1971 wars, Operation Vijay and Operation Parakaram.
Major General Sharad Kapur, General Officer Commanding Tiger Division and GOC (Designate) Major General Vijay B Nair laid floral wreath at the Tiger War Memorial and paid tributes to the martyrs.
Two minutes silence was observed in reverence of all those valiant soldiers from the Division who sacrificed their lives for the nation.
