JAMMU, Nov 3: A meeting was held by the migrants of village Tikker in Kupwara district of North Kashmir at Jagti township today in which an appeal was made to Lt Governor Manoj Sinha, urging him to issue directives to concerned authorities to get their land, orchards and houses restored which is under unauthorized occupation of district administration, Kupwara.
The meeting alleged that this way the authorities have themselves violated the J&K Migrant Immovable Property Act framed in 1997and made the return of displaced community impossible.
The meeting urged Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to look into the matter and take stern action against the erring officers of the District Administration and restore the land to concerned migrants .
