Timber seized

SRINAGAR, Dec 13: Police, along with Forest officials, today seized 134 cubic feet of illicit timber in the Watapora area of Bandipora.
As per authorities, acting on specific information, a police party of PS Bandipora along with officials of Forest department conducted a raid at a specific location at village Watapora.
“During search, they recovered 197 wooden sleepers of Deodar and Kail measuring about 134 Cft from the said spot,” police said.
One bandsaw mill has been seized and the owner of the said bandsaw has been arrested, said police.
Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of law has been registered in PS Bandipora. “Further investigation of the case is going on.”
