JAMMU, Dec 19: Government of Jammu and Kashmir has conveyed that the medical claims, which are not preferred within a time limit from the date of completion of treatment, should not be considered for placement before the authorities.
According to a circular, issued in this regard, the Government has observed that medical reimbursement claims submitted under the Jammu and Kashmir Civil Services (Medical Attendance cum Allowance) Rules, 1990, are not being presented by the beneficiaries within prescribed time limits resulting in rendering such claims as `Time barred’ while instructions as regards processing of such time barred claims are not being adhered to.
Taking serious note of this, the Government has reiterated that in case, the medical claim is not preferred within a time limit from the date of completion of treatment, shall not be considered for placement before the authorities, provided exceptional grounds are brought on record justifying valid reasons for the delay in preferring the claims, as prescribed in General Financial Rule-2017.
All the Administrative Secretaries and Heads of Departments have been impressed upon to circulate these instructions amongst their respective departments/offices.
