SRINAGAR, Feb 24: The Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) president, GA Mir has said that any tinkering with the special status of J&K would further alienate the people.
He said BJP which has lost the ground miserably was trying to mislead people to gain mileage under the garb of tinkering with special status of the State, which would prove to be disastrous.
In a statement Mir said that the special status granted to the J&K is a settled issue. Any misadventure with regard to Art 35-A, as reported, would further deepen the alienation among the people the fire of which will engulf the entire State.
Mir said, “BJP on the behest of RSS and other communal forces seems hell bent upon to tinker with the Art 35-A aiming to regain the lost ground, but I want to caution BJP about the fallout of such a move, which would be very disastrous and disturbing. You can’t achieve anything by tinkering the special status of the State,” Mir maintained.
PCC chief appealed all the political parties in the Country to join hands and protect special status of J&K, as that will be the defeat to BJP and other communal forces in the Country, besides it will restore confidence among the people.
