SAMBA, July 11: Tipper Association held protest outside Ghagwal Police Station against the Royalty Contractors.
Members of Tipper Association gathered outside Ghagwal Police Station under the leadership of their President Vivek Sharma and held protest against Royalty Contractors.
While speaking, Sharma said that the increase in the royalty by the contractors and the Mining Department is not acceptable to them.
Due to arrogant attitude of the Royalty Contractors, we have stopped our work, he said, adding that contractors are threatening them to pay the royalty as per new rates.
“We won’t pay royalty as per new rates. We want roll back of new royalty rates otherwise we will continue to abstain from work”, he added.
Among others present were Aman Singh, Narinder, Sukhbinder, Kapil, Abhey, Naresh, Pardeep and Abhinandan.
However, the construction work in the district has stopped after Tipper Association announced to abstain from work till the new rates are not rolled back.
The people also requested the concerned officials to allow Tipper Association to pay the royalty as per old rates.
