SAMBA, Nov 10: A tipper driver died today when the vehicle he was driving fell into a gorge near Jamuora on Samba-Mansar road in this district.
“A tipper (JK14C-1169) which was on its way to Udhampur from Samba this afternoon rolled down and fell into a deep gorge on Samba-Mansar road near Jamuora Morh in Samba district,” police said.
They said the driver identified as Dev Raj,42, son of Prem Chand, resident of Chenani died on the spot.
“The dead body was later shifted to DH Samba for post-mortem. The police is investigating the matter and the body will be handed over to family members for last rites after post mortem. The Samba Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law.
In another accident a tractor driver died after the tractor which he was driving fell into a gorge at Jamoura on the Mansar -Samba road this afternoon.
The tractor which was without number was on its way from Mansar to Samba. The driver of the tractor was identified as Arun Singh, S/o Gopal Singh R/o Garnai, Udhampur. The Samba police has taken the cognizanceof the matter and started investigation. The police has also registered a case under relevant sections of the law.
