REASI, Oct 9: National Panthers Party today organized Tiranga Yatra under the leadership of NPP president Balwant Singh Mankotia to celebrate the accession day with enthusiasm and unite nationalistic people.
The Tiranga yatra which started on October 8 from Udhamnpur reached Reasi town today. Addressing large gathering here Mankotia said that its our privilege that Maharaja Hari Singh provided us opportunity to become Indian citizens by signing the instrument of accession of J&K with Union India. On accession day, NPP used to celebrate Accession Day at district level and now has decided to organize Tiranga Yatra at district level with enthusiasm.
NPP president said that on October 27, 1947 State became part of Union of India after signing of instruments of accession but unfortunately this day remain neglected by not announcing holiday or to commemorate this day like August 15 and January 26 and due to pressure from Kashmiri leaders, importance was not given to accession day.
Expressing deep anguish, Mankotia said those involved in loot and violence on July 31, 1931 in Kashmir were given status of martyrs day and announced official holiday but accession day was ignored by the successive regimes in the State.
While addressing the rally Mankotia expressed that right from 1947 Jammu region was made a scapegoat of National and Kashmir centric political parties for their political interests. He further said that now the people of Jammu region have understand that BJP is becoming the B team of PDP in Jammu & Kashmir State and they have surrendered in front of PDP for the lust of power and fulfilling their anti- India and anti- Jammu agenda.
People of Jammu region are totally fed up with the political parties those are advocating for united J&K state. They have also understood that present State Government has crossed the every limit of discrimination with the people of Jammu region.
Mankotia further said that National Panthers Party is struggling for the people of Jammu region against the discrimination with the people.
