JAMMU, Apr 28: Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) today celebrated its 26th foundation day in the society office located at main market of Trikuta Nagar Colony, Jammu.
Chander Mohan Gupta, Mayor JMC, was the chief guest of the function while Ajay Kumar Gupta, Corporator of Ward 52 and Neeraj Puri, Corporator of Ward 54, were guests of honor.
On the occasion, the chief guest released the new magazine of TNWS containing details of all activities of Society in last five years, introduction of office bearers and executive members of TNWS along with their photo, address and contact numbers.
In his address, Gupta said since he took over as JMC Mayor, he released two autos for collection of daily base garbage from Trikuta Nagar Colony and in a short period approximately 80 percent street lights were either repaired or replaced. Gupta further informed that he has taken up the burning issue of right to free hold with concerned authorities and expressed hope that after Model Code of Conduct this demand will be fullfilled.
The Mayor also presented mementos to the family members of TNWS founder, late RD Gupta and 1st president. Former president of TNWS, Krishan Kumar Mahajan and family members of 2nd president of TNWS, late Vikram Gour, were also honoured.
Ashok Kumar Arora, patron of TNWS, presented the details of services rendered by all the former presidents to the residents of Trikuta Nagar Colony during their tenure while Harshvarthan Gupta (general secretary) presented the details of activities of the Society during year 2018 – 19.
Neeraj Puri presented the details of action taken and details of project in pipeline for development of Ward 54 whereas Ajay Kumar Gupta presented the details of the projects accomplished in his ward.
Earlier, Rajinder P Kakkar, president of TNWS presented welcome address. He also informed that Suneel Mahajan son of late Prof Suresh Kumar Gupta will start the process for opening a library with in TNWS complex in the memory of his father and it will be completed within next 15 days.
The function concluded with vote of thanks presented by SN Kaul, vice president of the Society.
