JAMMU, May 18: The Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) has raised urgent demands to enhance the water supply infrastructure in the Trikuta Nagar Colony, focusing particularly on Sector 5.
The society has requested the replacement of the existing motor for the Sector 5 tube well with a new one of identical specifications, citing issues with low water discharge.
Additionally, they have called attention to similar low discharge problems with the tube well at the railhead.
One of the key demands is the change of the electricity supply for the Sector 5 tube well from a local feeder to a special feeder, to ensure a more reliable power supply.
The society also emphasized the need for proactive staff in the division to improve management and response times.
A long-standing demand from Ward 54 is the construction of a new tube well. This request, as per the society, has been pending for the past three years, despite repeated assurances from the authorities that it would be addressed.
Residents of Sectors 5 to 8 are particularly affected by the low water levels in the existing tube wells, resulting in severe water shortages every summer. This shortage creates significant challenges for the community, as access to drinking water is essential for daily life.
The Welfare Society has as such urged for immediate action to resolve these critical issues.
