TNWS organizes blood donation camp

JAMMU, Apr 26: Trikuta Nagar Welfare Society (TNWS) in association with Blood Transfusion Department, Government Medical College (GMC), Jammu, today organized a blood donation camp at Urban Health Centre, Trikuta Nagar.
The camp was inaugurated by chief guest, MLC Surinder Choudhary. Dr Vijay Saini, HoD, Blood Transfusion Department, GMC Jammu, was the guest of honour. The camp was organized under the leadership of Nitish Mahajan, former member, Railway Advisory Board, Northern India.
More than 60 volunteers donated blood after passing through preliminary medical tests like HIV, HB, etc, conducted by a team of experts from GMC Jammu.
Speaking on the occasion, Surinder Choudhary asked the youth to come forward and donate blood to save precious lives. He said blood donation is a noble cause and everybody should donate blood at least once a year.
Dr Vijay Saini also appealed the youth to come forward and join hands to strengthen the movement of voluntary blood donation. He also delivered a motivational lecture on the importance of voluntary blood donation.
Vinod Mahajan, Amreek Singh Reen, SP Langer, BS Puri, RS Manga, Narinder Sharma, Krishan Sharma, Sandeep Sharma, Krishan Kishore Khajuria and many others were present on the occasion.
