JAMMU, Nov 5: Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) International Working President, Dr Praveen Bhai Togadia today launched a India Health Line here to ensure free treatment to the poor and needy at their doorsteps.
The initiative — India Health Line — is aimed at ensuring free treatment to every poor and needy in the country. People in need of medical attention just have to make a phone call except on Saturday, Togadia told reporters at the launch event.

The VHP is also planning to set up the world’s largest mega blood bank and women healthcare clubs across the country in the coming months. It will also reach out to Hindus in 100 countries if they need help, he added.
“We have enrolled over 10,000 doctors who are providing free services, while the number of health ambassadors has crossed the one lakh mark,” the VHP chief claimed.
India Health Line is functioning for the past four years and Jammu and Kashmir is the 26th State to be brought under its ambit, said Pankaj Tulli, secretary of India Health Line.
Dr Togadia said that any poor person can make a call on Toll Free Number for his treatment and he will get a good response from the Help Line. After medical examination by doctors the patient will be provided facility for free of cost testing and treatment also, he added.
He said India Health Line and Help Line are functioning smoothly in other parts of the country and VHP wants that its benefits should be extended to the J&K also.
He said the main objective of launching Hindu Help Line and India Health Line is to reach out to the poor and down trodden people of the country.
The VHP leader however parried questions on politics and prevailing political situation in the State saying whatever he had to tell regarding the politics he disclosed that yesterday.
Pankaj Tuli, secretary India Health Line, Dr Madhu Tiwari, Shyam Choudhary, Minister of PHE, Irrigation and Flood Control, , RSS leader, Dr Gautam Mengi, VHP State president, Leela Karan Sharma, its treasurer Surinder Aggarwal were present on the occasion.
The VHP leader said 45 crore people in India suffer from diabetes, blood pressure and other diseases and India Help Line will work for making a healthy India.
He said the India Health Line which was launched at Jammu today will start functioning from next Sunday.
He said besides the free medical check up and treatment to patients, the India Health Line will start a training course all over country in maintaining a good health style. Besides, the Mahila Swasth Sangh has also been constituted for making a healthy India and prosperous India, he added.
