Tony calls Women Reservation Bill ‘political rhetoric’

JAMMU, Sept 21: Congress leader and District Development Councillor representing Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony flayed the recently passed Women Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha by BJP led government at Centre and termed it as ‘political gimmick’.
Addressing the youth who joined Congress after leaving BJP at a function here today, Tony claimed that Women Reservation Bill appears to be a move to gain support from women voters ahead of the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
The Congress leader said that Women Reservation Bill was a vague commitment and cited government’s conditional promise to implement it in next delimitation process.
He accused BJP led government of trying to befool people of the nation by creating false narratives that all the schemes including those pertaining to social security are BJP’s creation.
Tony claimed that people across the nation are wise enough today to see through deceitful game plan of BJP which has done nothing for the people all these nine years except betraying them.
He said that people are waiting for coming elections to teach BJP a lesson.
