R.S PURA, Nov 10: General Secretary of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee and DDC Member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony has expressed deep concern over the losses suffered by farmers in recent hailstorm and rainfall and demanded immediate compensation to the affected farmers.
While assessing damages of crops in village Sai of R.S Pura today, Tony said that farmers of entire border belt in R.S Pura and Suchetgarh have suffered huge losses due to rainfall this time which has completely destroyed paddy crop in the region.
“These farmers need immediate respite in form of adequate compensation for their losses that would at least ensure the sowing of wheat crop in time and thwarting unnecessary delay in raising next crop,” the Congress leader said adding: “Already the farmers were hit by earlier rains and some of them could not even cut their ready crop due to firing from across the border.”
He said that in view of such a dismal situation, LG Manoj Sinha should come to the rescue of these farmers and without any delay provide compensation to them.
