SUCHETGARH, Nov 13: Congress general secretary and DDC Member Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony urged upon J&K LG, Manoj Sinha and DGP to start a special recruitment drive for next of kin of martyrs, in accordance with their qualifications.
While addressing a gathering after inaugurating blacktopping work in Suchetgarh, the Congress leader highlighted sacrifices made by the personnel of J&K Police and other paramilitary forces.
He expressed great disappointment as the recruitment lists issued recently by J&K Police has hardly any kin of martyrs.
“The concerned authorities should ensure fair and respectful opportunities to family members of those who have served the nation,” Tony maintained adding: “Neglecting sacrifices of martyrs can threat national integrity as valor of those who laid down their lives for the country forms bedrock of unity and sovereignty of the nation.”
He said that acknowledging sacrifices of martyrs is not just a matter of national pride but also a debt we owe to those who have given their all for our motherland.
Tony appealed to all the political parties to unite over this important issue.
