SUCHETGARH, June 16: General Secretary of J&K Pradesh Congress Committee and DDC Suchetgarh, Taranjit Singh Tony today emphasizes on the urgent need for early Assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir and claimed that the elections are the sole alternative to alleviate the severe hardships faced by the public.
Addressing a public meeting Tony expressed serious concern over the increasing power cuts, amidst rising temperatures.
He said, “The present administration’s failure to manage essential services such as electricity and water has plunged general public as well as the farmers into crisis, with malfunctioning lift and tubewell irrigation exacerbating agricultural woes.”
“The present regime has left the common citizen feeling abandoned,” he said, highlighting widespread unemployment, soaring inflation rates, and the absence of policies to safeguard rights of daily wage earners.
“Furthermore, the abrupt closure of 3000 schools in Jammu and Kashmir has deprived our youth of their right to education,” he added.
Tony reiterated that early Assembly polls represent the only viable solution to address these critical issues and pave the way for comprehensive reforms.
“The people deserve better. It is imperative for the government to heed their plight and take immediate steps to alleviate their hardships,” he asserted.
Tony reaffirmed Congress Party’s commitment to championing the rights and well-being of every citizen and asserted that we stand united in our resolve to restore dignity and prosperity to every household.
Among others who attended the meeting included ex Sarpanch Sham Lal Bhagat, SC BC leader Ajay Kumar, Ram Pal Singh, Balbir, ex Sarpanch Tilak Raj, Billu and Dr Mohan Bhagat.
