SUCHETGARH, Sept 16: Taranjit Singh Tony, Congress leader and DDC Suchetgarh, has strongly criticized the government for the prolonged delay in completing the crucial road project from Octroi to RS Pura and expressed deep concern over the prolonged delay in the completion of the road from Octroi to RS Pura.
He emphasized that while the government has been vocal about development in its slogans, the ground reality paints a starkly different picture of poor progress.
Tony made these remarks while interacting with the media persons after inaugurating the blacktopping work of road in Basti Gulabgarh village at Zero Line on Indian Territory.
Highlighting the grave issue, Tony pointed out that nearly 4,000 to 5,000 people visit Octroi Post Suchetgarh every Saturday and Sunday. He lamented that the slow pace of road construction leaves a negative impression of the government’s commitment to development, describing it as a matter of shame for the government and concerned department.
Tony appealed to the Commissioner Secretary of the Public Works Department (PWD) to intervene and direct the Chief Engineer and concerned officials/contractors to expedite the construction of the border tourism road.
Prominent among those who were present include Rocky Choudhary, Sarvan Choudhary and Ramesh Billa.
