SUCHETGARH, Dec 12: National Conference candidate for Suchetgarh, Taranjeet Singh Tony and the party leader Israr Khan today extensively toured the constituency and urged the people to vote for the progressive policies being pursued by Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
In a series of meetings, they sought people’s massive participation in the democratic process, saying a stable and strong Government alone can take care of their urges and aspirations.
Israr Khan took BJP head on for its dubious role, stating something in the Kashmir Valley and something different in Jammu. He described this as the worst kind of political opportunism saying this exposes the party’s desperation to remain relevant to the ongoing elections.
Mr Khan said the era of sloganeering and hoodwinking public opinion by inciting passions is over, as the people crave for development and progress. He said National Conference has all along been in the forefront to meet the requirements of the people on developmental front, which is discernible by the achievements registered by the Omar led Government during the past six years.
The National Conference leader sought vote for Taranjeet Singh Tony, saying his dynamism will steer the constituency to a new phase of progress and development.
Mr Tony assured the people that he will devote himself to the development of the constituency with an objective of making it a developmental model in the State.
