JAMMU, Dec 9: In order to pitch voice against growing corruption in Jammu and Kashmir and attempts to shield black sheep, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today held a protest demonstration in front of Divisional Commissioner office and questioned accountability in Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) which has changed affidavit in the case without any valid reason.
Protesters led by DDC member and senior AAP leader TS Tony assembled in front of the office of Divisional Commissioner Jammu and raised slogans against approach of ACB. The protesters demanded for a CBI probe into misconduct and misuse of official position by Tehsildar Bahu who was arrested by ACB but the Department has surprisingly submitted a new affidavit in the court.
Addressing the media persons during the protest, Tony said that corruption is one of the biggest nuisance in the society as it weakens the entire system and some black sheep involved in corruption create a situation in which a common man loses faith on system.
He said that recently ACB arrested Tehsildar Bahu Rohit Kumar and there are a number of complaints for official misconduct, misuse of power and corruption against the officer and it has also come to fore that an organized system was prevailing in which practices for change in revenue records were going on and even the senior officers in the Government were well aware of this entire ill-practice but these officers were silent due to reasons better known to them.
Tony added that with the arrest of the officer, common masses took a sigh of relief but anti corruption Bureau has surprisingly changed this submitted affidavit in the court which has left everyone in a state of surprise. He said that change in legal framework adopted by ACB is surprising and shows that an attempt has been made from higher setup to shield the corrupt.
Demanding a CBI probe into the matter, Tony said that people have lost their faith on ACB and now everyone is demanding a CBI probe so that this entire organized system of corruption can be uprooted.
