JAMMU, Apr 12:  Senior National Conference leader, Taranjeet Singh has resigned from the party over personal reasons.
Informing this to the media persons, here today, Mr Tony said that he submitted his resignation letter to the party president and former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
“I think I can serve the people of my Suchetgarh constituency better in other capacities. It is not only through a political party that you can serve your people and your country,” he said.
Mr Tony said that it was his personal decision even as it pained him from resigning a party to which he had served for 35 years of selfless service.
Pertinent to mention that Mr Tony had contested Assembly elections on the NC ticket from Suchetgarh constituency.
“However, I am not hanging my political gloves as I have a lot of passion for my people. I will not quit politics because people of Suchetgarh Assembly constituency need my services,” he added.
Mr Tony claimed that he had nothing against anybody in his former party and he would not castigate its leadership. “I am not that kind of persons,” he said.
