Top LeT commander, Abu Qasim, killed

Srinagar  : Security forces killed a top Lashkar-e-Toiba commander, Abu Qasim, in South Kashmir’s Kulgam district early today.

Abu Qasim was wanted by National Investigation Agency (NIA) for being mastermind of Uhampur attack on Border Security Forces (BSF) in August this year. He was carrying a cash reward of Rs 20 lakh on his head.

He was most wanted militant commander in Kashmir and was brain behind major militant strikes in Kashmir for last 5 years including killing of 11 army men in an attack in Srinagar in June 2013.

A gun battle that started at around 2 a.m. is still on and his associate is trapped in a house.
