AMRITSAR, June 27: To woo tourists from Punjab to Jammu region, the Directorate of Tourism, Jammu this evening organized an impressive Road Show at Amritsar and showcased the places of tourist attraction of the area with special focus on Patnitop circuit as an independent tourist destination.
This was the fourth and last road show planned by the Department for Punjab. Earlier, the department had organized similar road shows at Chandigarh, Ludhiana and Jallandhar.
A delegation of tour and travel operators and other stakeholders from Patnitop, Katra, Bhaderwah and Jammu was led by Director Tourism, Jammu R.K.Varma to showcase various destinations of Jammu region in general and Patnitop and its adjoining areas in particular.
The delegation of tour, travel hoteliers from Jammu had intensive and extensive interaction with the tour and travel operators from Amritsar and offered attractive packages for the tourists visiting Patnitop, Katra , Bhaderwah and Jammu.
During the road show, the people of the Amritsar were apprised about the city of temples, Jammu and told about the places of attraction there, including heritage monuments like Dogra Art Gallery, Amar Mahal, Mubarak Mandi, Bagh-e-Bahu, Raghunath Heritage Bazaar, Raghunath temple, Golf Course at Sidhra and the famous Mansar Lake.
The people were also told about the Patnitop, the most popular hill resort of Jammu region. They were also informed that one can also visit the Dam site of the Bagliar Hydro-Electric project which is 10 kms from Patnitop.
The people were told about Chinta Valley, Jai Valley, Meadows of Seoj and Kailash Kund. Besides this, places of interest like Shahadra Sharief, Mangla Mata, Mangla Devi, Nangali Sahib, Budha Amarnath, Tata Pani in Poonch and Rajouri Districts are worth seeing.
The other places of tourist interest projected during the road show are Sanasar lake, Sudh-Mahadev and Mantalai.
