JAMMU, Aug 29: J&K Department of Tourism participated in the 8th India-International MSME Startup Expo and Summit-2022, organised at Pragati Maidan New Delhi from August 25 to 27.
The ‘Trade Fair’ was organised with a motto of ensuring a unified global networking and business promotion platform to the traders, industries and service providers to showcase their products and services which was flooded with new opportunities, sourcing franchise, buyers/sellers, Government and Industry connections.
The J&K Department of Tourism was represented by Secretary to the Government of J&K, Sarmad Hafeez, GN Itoo, Director Tourism, Kashmir and Sunaina Sharma, JKAS Joint Director Tourism Jammu.
The participants were briefed by the visiting officers of the department about Tourist places of Jammu and Kashmir, new offbeat destinations wherein multiple infrastructure developments are coming up to provide the visiting tourists with new travel options.
They elaborated about the weekend Retreat ceremony at Suchetgarh, Commissioning of Musical Water Fountain at Bagh-e-Bahu Jammu and Paragliding at Aithem were some of the new initiatives taken by the Tourism Department. During interaction with the media, it was informed that the Directorate of Tourism Jammu has opened new trekking routes at seven lakes of Rajouri, Seven falls of Bani, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Udhampur and revived the existing ones.
The officers invited the participants to explore the unparalleled heritage of Jammu division, pilgrimage sites and pristine beauty of Ranjit Sagar Dam, unmatched beauty of Sarthal, where numbers of tented colonies have been developed for adventure lovers.
Sunaina Sharma further disclosed that a grand event is going to take place soon in the name of Basohli-Bani-Sarthal Festival under the active guidance of Vivekanand Rai, Director Tourism Jammu. The visitors can explore the local tourism products such as Basohli Paintings, Pashmina Shawls of Basohli and can also enjoy aqua sports in crystal clear water of Ranjit Sagar Dam.
It was further emphasized that the devotees visiting Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine have plenty of options within Jammu division to explore which includes adventure sports at Sanasar, Aithem, Patnitop, Surinsar and Reasi. The Pavilion of Tourism Department at the Expo received an overwhelming response from the tourist traffic regulators and established Business Houses and individual travellers.
