Tourism sector needs focus in Panchari-Moungri: DDC member

UDHAMPUR, Dec 26: DDC Member from Panchari Moungri, Jasvir Singh today said that special focus should be given on green budgeting with special packages and investment in Tourism and Horticulture Sector in the coming budget for financial year 2023-24.
Addressing a press conference, here today, he said that there is a huge scope of employment and development in both the sectors and the same can strengthen the rural and J&K economy as well. He said that investment in the tourism and horticulture sector can give a new boost to rural development, but for that better policy making and its better implementation needs to be ensured.
Talking about the tourism sector, he said that there is a huge scope of tourism in areas of Panchari Moungri as well as the other areas of District Udhampur and the tourism department needs to pay special attention towards these areas. Baba Sankri, Panchari Devdar Jungle, Sarai, Bamat, Samtal, Kultyar Caves, Shiv Parvati cave at Moungri, Baba Sabore, Raja Sankpal, Ladha Dhar, Saroli Dhar, Gori Mitti, Sukhalgali, Sheeshgali, Plali, Lali, Chamna Mata, Jadsarkote, Baba Batsal, Anjli Mata, Sheetla Mata, Arogh areas are having lot of scope for developmental activities in tourist sector. In addition to the mentioned places of Panchari Moungri, areas of Tikri, Udhampur, Chenani, Dudu Basantgarh, Lati, Ghordi, Ramnagar etc are full of scope for tourism and the development in the same will also more strengthen Udhampur as Business Centre.
Unfortunately, despite all possible efforts from our side, the main roads of Panchari Lander Moungri are in very poor conditions and even unsafe for driving at many places and the same is a big hindrance in the overall development of the area.
