JAMMU, Sept 21: Tourist Trade and Hotel Industry of Jammu has expressed concern over the delay in the completion of artificial lake Project on river Tawi.
In a joint statement issued by Inderjeet Khajuria, President All Jammu Hotels and Lodges Association, Kuldip Wahi, President Hotels, Restaurants and Bar Association and Ravi Mahajan, Chairman Jammu Paryatan Vikas Mandal have blamed the Government for releasing inadequate funds which have hampered the pace of work.
Earlier the work was executed in double shift basis which has now been reduced to a single shift, they said, adding that main object of this city beautification project was to come up with different tourist circuits in Jammu.
“If same policy prevailed then this project will miss December deadline as UEED has still to start work on 15 dirty city nallahs for their diversion otherwise they will create filth and dirt prone lake”, they added.
They urged the Government to take immediate steps to complete the lake project at the earliest by releasing the required funds.
