Tractor driver killed in road mishap; major tragedy averted at Vijaypur

JAMMU, Sept 12: A tractor driver died after the vehicle bearing number JK21/7020 turned turtle at Sumb today.
He has been identified as Suresh Singh, Son of Chhater Singh of Chhalana.
Samba Police has registered a case under relevant sections of the law. The body of the driver was kept in mortuary room of Samba Hospital for postmortem.
Meanwhile, a grave tragedy was averted after a truck loaded with steel which was on its way from Jammu to Samba was hit by another truck from back side at Vijaypur Chowk today. The driver of one truck however received minor injuries but the major tragedy was averted at this busy Chowk were many vehicles were parked on roadside.
The eye witness said that due to the daily traffic jam at Vijaypur Chowk they apprehend any catastrophe in future.
The people have many times made pleas to concerned authorities to take steps and regulate traffic on Vijaypur Chowk by not allowing nay vehicle to stop in the Chowk leading to traffic jams often.
The people of the area have also warned agitation in case the authorities do not swing into action and look into the problem.
