POONCH, Jan 9: Tractor trolley owners staged a protest outside Deputy Commissioner’s office at Poonch, demanding opening of royalty points and allow them to extract building material from river.
Reports said a Tractor trolley was taken out from Kanuyian to Truck Stand Poonch from where all tractor owners marched towards DC office and staged protest outside there.
Raising slogans against Geology & Mining department, tractor owners said that royalty points from Kalai to Jhulas are closed since long and we are not allowed to extract material due to which we and our families are suffering badly.
They said that we have bought tractors on finance and are not able to even pay instalments following which our tractors are being picked by financers.
Sarpanch Kunuiyan and local BJP leader were also part of this protest. They urged Deputy Commissioner Poonch to redress the issue.
Meanwhile ADC Poonch met with protesting tractor owners and assured them to redress the issue shortly.
