Trade unionists take up workers’ issues with DyCM

JAMMU, July 27: A delegation of  executive body of SGEJAC led by its senior leaders  Subhash Verma, Sushil Sudan and Suresh Sharma met  the Dy Chief Minister  Dr Nirmal Singh  here today.
The delegation discussed various burning problems of  the  employees and workers of the State which are pending since long. They  apprised him that employees had lot of expectations from the new Coalition Government and have given enough  time to the new dispensation for solving  pending issues of the employees but nothing has been done so far.
They claimed that trade unions extended cooperation and gave breathing time to the new Govt  but  cooperation by  SGEJAC may not  be construed as its weakness. The  Government should immediately take cognizance of the demands and take immediate measures to redress them.
The Dy CM  gave patient hearing to the  delegation  and listened their  demands  assuring that immediate positive action  will be taken after  discussion with  Chief Minister at Srinagar. The leaders also  urged upon the Dy CM  that  in order to avoid any  misunderstanding  between  the SGEJAC and the Govt,  let Joint Consultative Mechanism  be revived. The leaders however, hailed the decision of the Government for child care leave at par with the Central employees.
The major demands discussed during meeting included,  regularization of all the daily wagers who have completed seven years of service before and after 1994, increase in the daily wage rate to Rs 500  per day,  release of DA installment due from 1.1.2015,
dislocation allowance  to the employees  posted  in rural areas,  increase in Medical  allowance to Rs 2000 per month,  release of salary to daily wagers working in PHE and PDD, SSA and RAMSA,  regularization of 34 drivers working on contractual basis in JMC Jammu,   settlement  of pending claims  and  release of  funds for  retired SRTC employees  under VRS,  budgetary support to PSUs including State Forest Corporation, permanent solution  to the salary of Female Multipurpose  workers in  the Health Department and  removal of pay anomalies of all cadres including the  clerical  cadre.
